David :

Very pleased I could help, it may NOT be suitable for your website but may be usefull to emphasise the two 100/4 Coupés built at Longbridge between Sept and December 1953 (OAC 1 was issued Dec 1st 1953 at the loacl registratioin office at Warwick) Both cars were sent to Jensen to be fitted with Coupe' bodies and the interiors were fitted out by DH Motor Co.

The first car ONX 113 (DMH's personal car) has recently been sold having been in the Arthur Carter Collection and restored by him many years ago.

The second car OAC 1 was later fitted (1955)  with 6 cylinder Wolsley or Morris engine as the 100/6 engine had not been announced.

I am happy to receive these photographs

The car was fitted with Jaguar Dunlop Disc Brakes all round, and used for extensive development work until 1962 when it was sold to Phillip Fotheringham -Parker who was a friend of DMH and a very good GP driver. At some stage in the 70,s owner Alan Cook took the Coupé panles off the car and they ended up with a John Gray in Australia, I purchased the car in 1980 and the Coupé Panels in 1984. When I sold the car with Coupé panels to Sid Segal he had the car returned to Coupé and then Mick Darcy (current owner) made a superb job of  restoring it to it's prsent condition. The one thing missing is the opening rear window the Coupe' had to let out the enormous heat. This rear window was operated by the vacuum motor (windscreens) off a New York Taxi. When I bought the car the copper pipe from inlet manifold to rear boot was still in place - just cut off and pinched shut!!!

These two cars are the 3000 Coupés built about 1963/64 The blue one by DH Motor Co. and fitted with Sebring gearbox and high Diff. geared to reach 158 mph!!! The red car was designed /built by BMC Research and Development. Both Cars were considered for production by BMC but turned down, I think in favour of the MGB GT??

Photo shows them fully restored in the early 80,s

Thanks, David for your comments
